New Mexico isnt Hot

its more aptly described as

baking warm

which is great if your a tortilla

but if your at a flea market all summer long

sometimes you need to get away

into the high mountain

of cool Colorado

alot of animals have the

same idea

so many 14'ers

(over 50 mountains above 14,000 feet)

that there is debate

about just how many

exist in Colorado

Marmots dont care

they just stare

unless you move too fast

and then they are

gone like

summer in the Rockies

in late August

when snows begin again

its a brief window of time

when you can take a high mountain pass

and see the world from

14000 feet high

and come back to Santa fe

feeling ready to fight another day
